Awhile back Hubby and I shared a good laugh while we were out to eat at a local Mexican restaurant. The conversation centered around décor for the wall.
"We were eating lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Julio’s. He commented that if he owned the place, he would paint a giant mural on the wall. A mural of the inside of a cantina.
Cantina? Who says cantina? The only cantina my geeky mind could think of was the one from Star Wars where Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi go to hire Han Solo and Chewbacca to transport them off the planet Tatooine.""So Hubby and I are discussing how funny it would be to have the Star Wars Cantina Band painted on the wall morphed into a Mariachi Band wearing big sombreros."
Well, imagine our delight yesterday when we returned to this eatery and saw new artwork had been installed. It was not the mural we had envisioned painted there, but a huge painting showing the actual employees who worked at Julio’s.
But wait, what is this down in the corner.
Do you see the signature?
Guido Sarduchi, are you kidding me? The only Guido I am familiar with is Father Guido Sarducci from Saturday Night Live fame.

Oh my!! LOL

OK, in hubby's defense, if you drove south, say about 4 hours, we DO use the word CANTINA! It's just like real estate, you know... location, location, location! Being a border state, you are almost as likely to hear Spanish as English.
Glad to hear Father Guido has stayed busy! haha!

Funny! I like the painting though. I could see it hanging in my kitchin.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Conjunto music, and my wife keeps asking if I'm thinking of heading south of the border.
I'm really enjoying an album by a band called The Tejas Brothers. Good stuff. I love that accordion.
